Bible translators focus on the Spanish Bible.

By March 22, 2005

South America (MNN)–The World Bible Translation Center has recently completed the entire Spanish Bible.

80-thousand Bibles, 100-thousand New Testaments and ten-thousand Spanish/English New Testaments are being printed for distribution in the United States, Central and South America.

Churches, ministries and individuals thrilled to be using WBTC’s Spanish New Testament La Palabra de Dios para Todos are finding that it fills a long neglected niche.

In fact, a major ministry teaching Christians evangelism uses WBTC’s Spanish New Testament in its work in Mexico and has seen tens of thousands of conversions.

Readers of all ages in cities and villages find it easy to understand, making sharing the Gospel message easier. The text has been used by outreach ministries to people in Honduras, Colombia, Mexico and Cuba. Distribution to prison ministries in the state of Texas and in the country of Nicaragua has been extremely effective.

However, the need for context in the study of the Scriptures as a whole comes with the Old Testament. When the NT was released in 2001, translation for the OT portion was already underway.

With this tool, there’s great opportunity for ministry to Hispanic speaking people. The total cost for the project is $500,000. $240,000 has already been committed to date, leaving a balance of $260,000 still needed. Pray that God will provide the funding needed to print and distribute the Spanish Bible and New Testaments.
