Syria (MNN) – Over the Easter holiday, SAT-7, a Christian satellite television ministry to the Middle East and North Africa, headed into Syria to help put on an Easter celebration for the kids.
Alot of the kids they served have suffered greatly because of the unrest and multiple conflicts in the Middle East. Between SAT-7, an Evangelical church in the area, and others, these kids are being given the opportunity to hope and be loved.
For these kids who have forgotten what it means to be a child, the celebration was greatly welcomed.
The event, for both Christians and non-Christians, kicked off with Sunday school leaders acting out a play explaining Easter for the children. Before long, a lot of the kids began singing praises to the Lord for keeping them safe.
Then the event moved on to a day filled with fun activities, games, arts, crafts, and even some face painting. It concluded with the children receiving Easter gifts and a meal at the church.
As the children began hearing the Gospel through the Easter service, many trusted Christ in child-like faith. Seeds were planted in the hearts of others as they were introduced to the true God who is “a very present help in trouble.”
According to SAT-7 Arabic, the event is part of an initiative meant to help give moral support to these kids who’ve lost so much to the civil war in Syria. It’s an initiative meant to give hope and encourage dreams. But it’s also an initiative to share the Gospel and give children the ultimate hope of Christ.
Would you help?
Pray: Please pray for more kids to come to know Christ as their Redeemer and source of Eternal hope.
