DOOR International was founded in 1999, and Mr. Buus has served since then as its president.

Sid Jansma III, Chair of the Board of Directors, had this to say about Michael Buus’s service: “The Board of DOOR International would like to express its sincere thanks and gratitude to Mike Buus for his years of leadership. Mike has led DOOR for over 17 years and has overseen its growth from a small startup ministry to a stable, thriving international organization.

“Mike’s pioneering efforts have positively impacted thousands of Deaf for Christ and, by the grace of God, will continue to impact millions more. Thank you, Mike! May God bless you as you transition to the next step of God’s calling.”

Mr. Buus will continue to serve DOOR International in the role of President Emeritus and Consultant for Special Projects.

Dr. Myers has served as the Chief Executive Officer for DOOR International since June 2014. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Dean of Sciences at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN.

Hi Bonny, You may connect with Dr. Myers through DOOR International: [email protected].

  • Having been the home church of Mike and Linda Buus when they began DOOR and making a decision to adopt the deaf as our first unreached people group, thanks to Mike’s influence, I can say it has been the joy of my 16 years at missions pastor to watch this ministry unfold. Watching Mike pass the baton to Rob Myers has been remarkably smooth and an answer to prayer. Can’t say enough good about both of these men and their wives.
