Afghanistan/Pakistan (MNN) — Suicide bombers sent forth by the Taliban aren’t intimidated by the recent U.S. decision to stay in Afghanistan.

At the same time, an Afghani Christian isn’t backing down from the terrorists–even if it costs him his life.

“I consider myself a suicide evangelist,” a bold Afghani believer recently told Forgotten Missionaries International (FMI).

“What I mean is that I fully expect to give my life for the sake of the Gospel, whether I die 10 months from now, 10 years, [or] 50 years.”

“Mulah” is a Muslim-background believer helped by FMI.

“He knows what God has done in his life and wants to keep radiating that to anyone who will listen,” shares Allen.

“Our national director says that he never hesitates to share the Gospel directly in these difficult places–[even] inside the mosques.”

Listen to Mulah’s full story here.

What Mulah is up against

Self-proclaimed suicide evangelist Mulah doesn’t claim the title lightly. He knows what he’s up against.

Mulah’s home nation–Afghanistan–is ranked as #5 on the Open Doors World Watch List: a compilation of 50 nations where persecution of Christians is most severe. Even though Mulah fled to Pakistan for safety–like 2.5 million of his fellow Afghans, conditions aren’t much safer there.

“As much as he has opportunity, there are threats against him,” explains Allen.

As Mulah reaches out to fellow Afghani citizens taking refuge in Pakistan, he’s finding “great openness,” Allen says.

“But, that’s also where the sleeper cells of terrorism exist.”

With every conversation, Mulah faces risk.

The Afghan he’s talking to could be someone truly open to the Gospel. Or, it could be someone who does need the Gospel but is actually a terrorist in hiding.

Nonetheless, Mulah the suicide evangelist is on a mission.

“His faith, his devotion, is contagious,” says Allen.

“He goes into the mosques and evangelizes. He goes to the madrassahs–the private schools where jihadists are spouting their philosophy, and he finds people who are open to the Gospel in these places.”

How you can help him

Please keep Mulah, and others like him, continually in your prayers.

  • Ask the Lord to protect Mulah as he boldly shares the Gospel amid potentially dangerous situations.
  • Pray that more Christians would have boldness like this to share their faith no matter the cost.

“To partner with someone who’s a young man, who has such zeal, who has good knowledge…I get encouraged by being with him.”

What an inspiration he is. Yes I just prayed for the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire that rested on the Isralites day in and day out showing them the way, will lead him too. I’m so moved by his faith in our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus. He’s my buddy and I shall continue to pray for him that many may come to the knowledge of the only hope for mankind….In Jesus name..Amen

Mulah: You do not stand alone my brother. I am far away in South Africa, but stand with you in prayer! I pray that the young men and women that I am training up as evangelists will also have the boldness you do. Continue to walk in God’s grace.
