Freedom comes to believers in Persia.

Iran (MNN)–Freedom-it’s a tantalizing word for Christians living under Iran’s oppressive Islamic regime.

Evangelist Sammy Tippit says this month, a new Christian television station went on the air in the Middle East. STM joined forces to launch a weekly 30-minute program on the 24/7 satellite television channel that broadcasts into Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

The program will air every Tuesday at 6:30 pm (Middle Eastern time) in the Farsi language, which is the language of the aforementioned regions.

Tippit’s team has also figured out ways to utilize technology in an effort to share the Gospel. At the end of each program, a link is shown of how to access the Sammy Tippit Ministries Farsi website. “We have a 13-week course that we can go through on basic discipleship–how to grow in Christ, taking them from their first steps of faith in Christ, to basically how to grow.”

A safe way to grow in faith, he says. “It’s audio, video and text, and then they meet together in that private chatroom in a virtual meeting.”

Tippit says the internet tools along with the broadcast create a unique opportunity. “It’s almost like a virtual church that we’re providing. So what would be happening in a church setting is what would be happening in a house setting.” Any person who is in possession of a satellite dish in Europe or the Middle East will have access to these programs on channel 83.

“I’ve become their teacher/pastor,” Tippit explains, adding, “It is really an exciting development to see these new believers growing in Christ.”

He urges prayer for their broadcasts airing every Tuesday that God would speak to the hearts of the millions of people watching and listening to the message of the Gospel.
