Gift of Sight nurtures new relationships in U-S.

USA (MNN)–Here’s Life Inner City assisting ‘Gift of Sight’ events throughout the U-S.

It’s an effort to not only give the needy the gift of physical sight, but also an opportunity to lead them to spiritual sight through Christ.

Through the program, Gift of Sight teams offer free eye exams, glasses and food, linking children and their families to neighborhood churches.

Teams are partnering with ‘Give the Gift of Sight’ as a national distribution coordinator for Lift Up America. That group collects millions of pairs of used eyewear in Luxottica Retail stores including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical and BJ’s Optical stores as well as participating optometrists.

The relationships that come from this strategy are nurtured. Not only that, but the children helped by this program will be able to see, and, in turn, read…which will help motivate them to stay in school. Through a simple act of generosity, a child’s life can be re-shaped.

Funding and prayer are the only obstacles to seeing this program grow. The team wants to expand into 30 different cities this year.
