Groups work at helping at-risk-children for Christ

By May 21, 2004

Russia (MNN)–“Operation Christmas Child” has been extremely successful in Russia.

It has also spearheaded a new networking initiative for all national churches and organizations which work with children-at-risk. Russian Ministries says now is the time to mobilize and unite many organizations whose passion is to help the most disadvantaged group of people in the former Soviet Union. Millions of orphans and homeless children are victims.

Russian Ministries believes that this issue could be more efficiently addressed through the mobilization of church leaders and nationally based organizations that are reaching out to children independently and through their local churches.

They are now working with others to invite all national organizations involved in children-at-risk ministries to come and share their views and experience in this area on June 26, 2004 in order to launch a new National Network for children-at-risk.

They will be able to expand their information field, share resources and build a prayer network to support this initiative nationwide that will benefit children’s ministry in general.
