USA/India (MNN) — Bibles for the World wants to say ‘Thank You’ to Christians for supporting missions work. Their thanks comes in the form of the India Children’s Choir.

The choir of 22 children from villages in Northeast India will be touring the USA for 11 months, performing more than 250 concerts for churches and various groups. Their musical performance, entitled “Headhunters to Hearthunters” is an original performance that tells the awe-inspiring story of the coming of Christianity to the Hmar tribe. It is one of the most incredible and yet least known stories in modern missionary history.

And they come to tell about Christ and how His love has changed their part of the world–and its people–forever.

Mawii (MO-EE) Pudaite of Bibles for the World says the choir hopes to impact their hearers, “Our prayer is that wherever they go, there will be a revival for mission in the churches that they will be visiting. We are trusting that they will enlarge the vision of the body of Christ for the regions beyond where the Word of God has not been distributed or read.”

Missionaries went to some villages in India 100 years ago, and many villagers turned to Christ. Among them was the father of Rochunga Pudaite, the founder of Bibles for the World. Mission work has continued and grown in the area, and much fruit has been seen throughout the years, through the growth of Christian schools, child sponsorships, Bible studies and churches.

Mawii Pudaite stressed the value of mission work, and referring to children in the choir, she says, “They are trophies of God’s grace: grandchildren or great- grandchildren of former headhunters singing the praises of God, and [they] are the evidence that mission pays.”

Please pray for the children, between the ages of 8 and 12, who will be away from their families for the extended time as they tour. Pray for safety and unity, that they will stay close to the Lord and that they will touch the hearts of the people who will hear them.
