By November 24, 2004

USA (MNN/LPEA) — The Luis Palau Evangelistic Association is preparing for DC Festival with Luis Palau. They’re heating up their efforts as Palau visited the nation’s capital for a non-stop round of interviews, speaking engagements, and meetings with key business, church and political leaders.

Palau’s four decades of ministry have taken him to over 70 countries, but bringing his “Great music. Good News” festival to Washington will be special for the world evangelist.

“For years, we’ve dreamed of one day sharing the Good News in the city that represents freedom to the world,” Palau told a gathering of business and professional leaders. “We want this city — and the nation — to know that the true pursuit of happiness comes in following Jesus Christ.”

Highlights of the week included a visit with Vern Clark, Chief of Naval Operations, and with U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black, whose Capitol Building office looks out directly on the National Mall, the site of the DC Festival in October, 2005. Luis also spoke at Western Theological Seminary, New Samaritan Baptist Church, and St. John’s Lafayette Square Parish House, home church of President Bush. Media interviews included national outlets such as Time Magazine, Mission Network News, and United News and Information, and with Christian radio’s WAVA FM.

The festival is expected to take place on October 8th and 9th, 2005 in the nation’s capital.
