Missionaries needed in Alaska to be a light in a dark world

USA (MNN) — It’s a place where there is very limited daylight in the winter. It’s not only dark physically, it’s dark spiritually. Your help is needed now to make a difference.

SEND International missionaries have been just that for over 60 years across the Far North, taking the light of the gospel to those who have never heard. Their vision is to see lives transformed, families changed, and whole communities touched by the light of Jesus Christ.

SEND is has a goal of recruiting 105 new missionaries in the next 5 years to join their team and make known the gospel of Jesus Christ in communities of largely indigenous peoples in Alaska, the Yukon Territory, and northern British Columbia.

The ministry opportunities are wide ranging. From evangelism, discipleship, and teaching the Word, to bi-vocational missionaries including school teachers, village health aides (providers of primary health care), pilots, radio broadcasters and others. SEND’s team-based ministry strategy blends the various skills of each member for maximum impact on an entire region.

Vance Havner once said, “The problem today is that the spiritual situation is desperate but many of God’s people are not.” Since everyone is called to be a missionary, you may be one of people God is calling to fill the missionary void in the far north.
