The map at the head of the article is misleading. To people who don’t know (particularly outside of the Philippines) the juxtaposition implies that the entire island of Mindanao is the new autonomous zone. While this new proposal is a very sad development, the overwhelming majority of Mindanao will not be part of this new zone.
