New church planting underway in Guinea

By February 2, 2004

Guinea (MNN) — Jim Sheffield with New Tribes Mission will return to Guinea this summer and continue his work with the Landuma tribe. He says they are still early in the evangelism phase of the work there as there are not many Christians.
They are working to plant a New Testament church, disciple the believers and ordained church leaders as well as translate the Bible so the people have the word of God in their own language.

Obstacles they face include the social pressures from religious leaders who are not open to the Gospel. It is also difficult to be missionaries in a third-world country and ask that they pray for their health.
