People are ready to hear about Christ, despite increasing violence

India (MNN) — Christians in India are expressing a growing concern about increasing attacks by radical Hindus. These attacks have been growing since the radical Hindu party known as the BJP lost power back in May.

But, these attacks are doing little to curb the spread of the Gospel in this predominately Hindu nation. KP Yohannan is the President of Gospel For Asia. He says persecution only adds fuel to the fire. “The more severe the persecution, the more people come to Christ and this is something the enemy doesn’t understand, maybe. Where ever these kinds of things are happening we are seeing people actually turn to the Lord in greater numbers.”

GFA has more than 14,000 evangelists and missionaries scattered throughout the nation and 8,000 enrolled in their Bible colleges. Yohannan says that’s not nearly enough to do the work. “We turn away thousands every year because we don’t have the facility or the means to take them and train them. There are hundreds of places we can send missionaries if only we had people to pray and support us to get the job done. They are there and willing to go.”

It only costs $30 a month to support a GFA missionary. Go to their web site, http://www.GFA.org.
