I was adopted from Germany by an American Army couple who was having difficulty having children of their own. It was 1954, and my birth parents were very poor from the war-torn country. They were forced to put me and my brothers in an orphanage.
Had I not been adopted, I would have begun working as a maid at the age of 10-12. I would not have had an education, nor would I have been able to have the many freedoms allowed to me by this wonderful country! I am so grateful for my adoption.
Today I am 66 years old, and I can look back on that time as one of the most pivotal times of my life. Here was my opportunity to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ, and to ask Him to be my Savior.
Adopt a child! You never know what a difference you will make in the life of another creation of God!
