(Nigeria)–Nigeria tops the news today. The northern city of Kano remains calm but tense following a bout of deadly rioting over the weekend. Sources say the conflict between local Muslims and Christians began after a Muslim-led protest against America and the military strikes against Afghanistan. Gospel Revival Ministries’ John Musser says their Kano office was prepared. “We keep it mobile, so if something like this takes place, then we will take it to another location. We have already moved our headquarters, I believe, five times within the last eight years.” Despite the problems, Musser says tensions in the region have had a positive impact. “Every time the mature Christians of Kano State, Nigeria, have something like this take place, they always say ‘The blood of the martyrs is the seed of evangelism.’ That’s where they want to penetrate into the northern barriers, going into Sudan, Cameroon and through those ancient strongholds.”
