Story number 1 for 2 Feb 2001

(India)–We begin today’s newscast in India, where a massive amount of aid is needed to help the victims of the deadliest earthquake in India in decades. G-V Mathai is in India. Mathai says the need for aid is incredible so they’re raising funds to help: “Buy some warm clothes and we can get the food, medicine and I am talking to some local doctors to go with us over there and we can help them, giving them some temporary shelter because those people are outside and they are suffering so much.” Mathai says evangelists and Bible school students will be the hands and feet in this effort. He’s asking people to pray. “Please pray that our group going that we will be protected from any kind of disease, and also that we can share the love of Christ to those people because this is the state, which has persecuted the Christians so much with in the last two years.”
