(Afghanistan)–Headlining today’s news, Christian humanitarian groups are moving full steam ahead to provide relief to refugees leaving Afghanistan. World Vision’s President Rich Sterns says they’re going into Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to determine the needs. Sterns says helping the needy physically sends an important message. “It’s a wonderful testimony for Christians to be responding to people who are Muslim. To demonstrate to them that we harbor no ill will against innocent people. And, to demonstrate the love of Christ in a very tangible way to people who are in a desperate, desperate situation.” Sterns says relief goods are already on the way. “We are shipping four container loads of supplies that are needed during these kinds of crisis. They include tents and blanket and food and clothing and cooking kits. They kinds of things refugees need when they’ve left their homes and left everything behind.” Call 1-800-700-4911 to help financially.
