(Zambia)–Next, at its peak, the cholera epidemic that has struck Southern Africa was the worst it has been in nearly 20 years. In Zambia, the water-born disease outbreak has affected the work of a mission group. Grace Ministries International’s Sam Vinton. “We got word that the son of one of our pastors in the city of Kabwe died with the cholera. And then, schools were closed and eventually the Bible school was postponed. There’s no electricity at the compound where the Bible school is located, and we have a well. So, we’re getting a motor now so we can pump our own water to help alleviate the situation.” However, Vinton says the Bible school opened February 19th and GMI is moving ahead with their outreach, despite the cholera threat. “One of the things I’m excited about is that we are planning a big evangelistic crusade in August. We have literature that we’re going to be producing and that certainly would be something to pray about as far as the salvation of the people who would hear the Gospel.”
