(India)–Elsewhere, India’s ruling coalition survived a bruising censure motion over its handling of deadly Hindu-Muslim riots. The distraction of the religious fighting has taken the focus off of evangelistic Christians and their work. However, in some areas, hostilities remain strong. Reuters reports a church arson in eastern Orissa state. Although no injuries were reported in this incident, local authorities throughout the state were warned to provide armed security to churches, particularly those in remote regions.
