Story number 2 for 20 Nov 2001

By November 20, 2001

(Middle East)–Meanwhile, Christian workers in the Middle East are seeing an interesting trend in terms of attitude toward the Christian faith. Words of Hope’s Vice President for Broadcasting Lee DeYoung just returned from the region and says church leaders are optimistic about outreach. “These church leaders indicate that a number of Muslims they know are much more open to hearing about the Christian faith than they were prior to September 11th. The same people who had been quite closed now seem to have been shaken through the events that have been so devastating and done in the name of the religion to which they were adherent. And, this has given, for many of them, reason to rethink and their openness seems to have increase considerably.” Words of Hope broadcasts Christian programming daily into the Middle East. DeYoung is praying many will listen and eventually turn to Christ.
