Elsewhere, AIDS has had a devastating impact on Africa. In nine African countries, life expectancy has fallen by 20 years, and 95 percent of the 15,000 new cases of infection daily around the world are in developing countries. He Intends Victory’s Herbert Hall says this is the time for the compassion. They recently started a ministry in South Africa. “We set up a He Intends Victory ministry there, where a church is going to carry that on, because HIV and AIDS isn’t made for the church, but it’s an opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people who really need Him and are facing their mortality.” Hall says many more believers are beginning to understand the gravity of the situation. “We saw kids raising kids, because the parents have died, and the many, many orphans. We’re just praying that the church would really open up and start doing abstinence education and start doing ministry and outreach to the people that are afflicted.”
