Story number 2 for 4 Jun 2001

(Mexico)–Elsewhere, Open Doors reports that local authorities in three Mexican states have told evangelical Christians to change their religion or suffer severe consequences. Many of the religious conflicts in Mexico stem from evangelicals’ refusal to participate in town festivals — an important source of income for local authorities. The festivals usually include activities that evangelicals find unacceptable. Please pray for Christians there as they struggle to maintain their testimony.
