(Caribbean)–The Christian hospital ship Caribbean Mercy spent the winter in Guatemala where they treated more than 300 patients without charge. Mercy Ships brings the hope of Christ to the poor and needy around the world, primarily through ocean-going vessels, providing medical care, relief, development, and education. Caribbean Mercy Ship’s Nurse, Nancy Wonder says the crew will be heading back to Central America this summer, but first needs to re-supply and recruit new staff. “Basically our managerial positions are manned by long term staff and we need hundreds of short-term people to fill in anywhere from two weeks to an entire outreach.” The Caribbean Mercy will be taking a spring tour of the U.S. east coast. They’ll visit Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Norfolk, Virginia before heading for Honduras in June.
