Story number 3 for 30 Oct 2000

By October 30, 2000

Greater Europe Mission and Biola University have announced a new program to help serve missionaries on the field. GEM’s Devere Curtiss says the partnership will provide graduate-degree programs for missionaries servicing in Europe and surrounding areas. “It’s one of the first types of programs like this that gives the missionary the benefit of staying on the field without having to return for extended periods of time to leave his ministry to pursue advanced courses. And, that’s what the real genius of this program is.” The program will begin in the fall of 2001 and is open to any Christian worker. According to Curtiss, these programs will ultimately help in evangelism. “They will help missionaries identify needs and develop strategies for reaching people who are culturally very sophisticated not animistic or primitive cultures.”
