(Papua New Guinea)–Papua New Guinea’s Owininga (OH-win-EENG-gah) Tribe’s church is thriving despite the fact that there have been no missionaries in that tribe for two years. A recent visit found believers not only standing strong in their faith, but sharing it, as evidenced by new believers in neighboring tribes. Dean Mundy is planning to return to the area soon, and says he’s excited about the potential for additional evangelistic outreach. “The people were meeting and leaders were still teaching. They’re still doing literacy and medical programs that we set up while we were there. So, it’s really encouraging to hear how the people are carrying on, even in our absence.” Mundy asks believers to pray as the tribe continues to grow in their walk with God. “We have about one-hundred baptised believers out of a total population of 330. We’re translating the New Testament into that dialect. These people, the 330 people, are the only people in the world who speak this language.” Mundy and his family are staying at D&D Missionary Homes in Florida while in the United States.
