Story number 3 for 9 Jul 2001

(Nigeria)–The Barnabas Fund reports that 15 churches have been burnt to the ground Northern Nigeria’s Jigawa State last month. At 14 of the churches, the pastor’s home was also torched. The fifteenth pastor rented a house owned by a Muslim. In neighboring Kano State, some 17 churches were demolished in June. Full Islamic law was introduced in both Kano and Jigawa States last year. Pray for the protection of Christian churches in Northern Nigeria.
