(Tanzania)–Meanwhile, African Enterprise is asking people to pray for their work in Tanzania. The work among the predominately Muslim people on the Island of Zanzibar is uncertain because of renewed violence. African Enterprises’ Malcolm Graham says election protests have rekindled violence. “They had elections last year and there were a lot of disturbances a lot of rioting and people were killed. And I just picked up the news that more trouble in Zanzibar and there has been rioting in the streets again.” 22 people have been killed in the protests. Graham says they’re trying to encourage the very small local church with simple evangelistic methods. However, ministering in this area isn’t easy. “We are prevented from going into the streets and the byways or public halls or public places. So, it has to be done in church buildings and in Christian homes. The local church feels just totally overwhelmed by the Muslim community.”
