(Cuba)–Meanwhile, Medical Ambassadors International is reporting encouraging news about the growth of the church in Cuba. MAI’s John McWilliam says the U-S embargo is actually making it difficult for pastors to get needed materials for their ministry, but they’re addressing the need. “They don’t have many resources and they’re just doing what they can get locally-things can’t be imported and so forth, so they have to make do with the resources that they can put together there. We’re going to begin by training teams that will be working with community health evangelism; they’ll be doing preventative health care and community projects.” McWilliam asks believers for their support. “Pray for the church, pray for the leaders that they’ll continue to reach out through the cell groups. Because people only make seven to ten dollars a month, we’ll be able to support workers in Cuba at a very reduced rate, so this will allow us to start a lot more community health evangelism teams.”
