(Afghanistan)–Meanwhile, the United Nations special envoy to Afghanistan rushed to the country’s Capital to prevent the execution of 24 aid workers. They’ve been charged by Islamic rulers with spreading Christianity. The German based Shelter Now International was distributing food and running housing projects there when the Taliban closed its offices and detained 24 aid workers, including four Germans, two Americans and two Australians. Authorities believe the western workers will be released, but the Afghan nationals face execution.
