Story number 4 for 6 Sep 2002

(USA)–Next, as the anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks in the U-S approaches, local communities are planning special ceremonies. However, churches in Grand Junction, Colorado — with the help of Bible Pathway Ministries — are planning a 90-hour Bible Reading Marathon. Jeannie Harrison is helping coordinate it and explains why they’re doing it. “It is to stand before this county, here in Mesa County, Colorado with the word of God that there are still Christians out there holding on to the world and that we are one nation under God and that we are proud that we have the Holy Bible and the freedom to read and stand on it.” Harrison believes this marathon will have an eternal impact. “We believe the word that says, His word will not return void. And, we have a lot of homeless kind of wandering around the parks and what not, and we’re believing they will come over and sit on the grass and the benches and listen and that God’s word is going to do its work.”
