Story number 4 for 8 May 2001

(Bhutan)–Next, the Southern Baptist International Mission Board reports that in Bhutan, the world’s only Tibetan Buddhist kingdom, an overwhelming 99 percent of its population have never had a chance to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. The Drukpa worship a Buddhist pantheon found in every business, building and home. In response, believers will come together to pray for the Drukpa from Friday, June 1 through Saturday, June 2, during the annual Day of Prayer and Fasting for World Evangelization.
