Tariq needs Jesus

Syria (Frontiers/MNN) — “Tariq” is a typical Syrian.

He is proud to be a Muslim, and he has so much love for his country that, so far, he has refused to leave war-torn Syria.

Then, he was kidnapped by ISIS.

According to Frontiers USA, threats of death and violence against locals in exchange for money remains a lucrative means for ISIS to generate cash to fund their activities.

The New York Times’ editorial board agrees.

“Praise God, Tariq’s wife and family were able to buy his freedom, and he is now back home with his family,” writes a long-term Frontiers USA missionary here.

“In order to pay the ransom, his wife had to sell most of their possessions and they borrowed heavily from family and friends. Now, in addition to finding themselves heavily in debt, Tariq is scared, broken, and in his own words, “completely broken down.”

“The experience has left him traumatized and rattled to his very core.”

It’s been proven time and time again what a Muslim saved by Christ can do. Now, will you stand with us, and our friends at Frontiers USA, in prayer for a Muslim who hasn’t found Him yet?

  • Pray that Tariq will read God’s Word.
  • Pray he’ll find out about Jesus Christ: the One who paid an eternal ransom for his life.

“We pray that God would use this time in our friend’s life to speak to him in dreams and visions, to reveal to Tariq the One who paid the ultimate ransom for his life,” says the Frontiers USA missionary.

“We pray that Tariq would find comfort in the Bible that we gave him, and that he would find the words of life that lead to his acceptance of the Son of Man, who gave His life as a ransom for many (Matthew 28:20).”

Dearest Lord Jesus we ask you to grasp Tariq by your grace. Open his eyes to the truth. We ask that you redeem his family as well. In all these things we know you’re sovereign. In your precious name I pray. Amen

  • Gracious God
Open Tariq’s eyes, whisper into his dreams & put believers in his path so he can have no question about how much of a lover of your creation you are. Help him formulate questions that believers will answer & let their testimony & truth speak to him providing the comfort only you can provide. In Jesus’ name
