Testimony accompany relief deliveries in Iraq

Iraq (MNN) — As insurgents continue their assault on the new Iraqi government and coalition forces, some Iraqis are struggling for survival. New Life World Aid, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada is providing Boxes of Blessing for the most needy Iraqi people.

To date over 32-thousand boxes have been distributed to help 250-thousand people. New Life’s Philip Morris says, “I don’t want to give to many details because there (are) very serious security concerns on our workers, staff and volunteers there. But, we have teams of Iraqi Christians distributing much needed food supplies to the most desperate of Iraqi families in various centers in Iraq, but mostly in Baghdad.” He says all of the relief work is being done to be a testimony to those they serve.

Christians around the world are being asked to pray. “The need in Iraq is kind of obvious. It’s a very unstable situation. People are afraid for their lives. It’s very difficult for some families, especially families who have disabled people, or if they’ve lost their father or the income earner in their home.”

New Life World Aid has had an impact. Morris says, “I know that we’ve had very touching stories of how our staff have been able to reach out not just once, but many times to help the most needy families.”

Funding is needed to help New Life assist even more people. Morris believes people who do are making an eternal investment. “Through personal touch (and) personal contact, Iraqi Christians are reaching out to their neighbors. We just pray that God would move us to give so that Iraqi Christians can be a witness.”
