The Gospel brings reconciliation to families.

DR Congo (MNN) — Street children in the Democratic Republic of Congo are finding a voice to plead their case. With the help of Every Child Ministries, street children are claiming they were unjustly forced from their homes because their parents decided they were witches.

It’s a common occurrence in war-torn Congo (DRC). Sometimes there is a real fear of witchcraft, but it’s often a convenient way to be rid of unwanted children or ease the burden of limited resources. Poverty and abuse make home life for many children worse than running away and living on the street.

Every Child is meeting the needs of street children through the loving care of ECM workers. They help provide food, clothing and vocational training, and minister to their spirits through Bible studies and fellowship.

With ECM’s help, these street children are given opportunities to share their testimonies on the radio and perform dramas that have brought about forgiveness and reconciliation to families. This has resulted in encouragement to the children and a change of attitude for some parents.

Praise God for the Truth of the Gospel and His power to bring peace and reconciliation.
