When does this ramadan season starts? I know its 40 days each year a different month but dnt know when now

I’m from the Philippines and you would learn from the news that the Maute group tried to drive Marawi city. A lot of Muslims are displaced.
Besides that, they are killing Roman Catholics thru their check points who can recite something from the Koran. Many left Marawi but there are still people trapped. The Maute leader have yet caught, and some of his sympathizers tried to escape and tried to mix as refugees. There are still hostages, one of them is a Catholic priest, have yet known their situation. A kind Muslim businessman took care of his Christian employees inside his home because he thinks it’s safer in his care than release them.
