Words of Hope enters into a new partnership to broadcast the Gospel in Niger.

By December 22, 2004

Niger (MNN)–Niger, a country in western Africa, is 98-percent Islamic. It is also known as one of the world’s poorest countries.

The two together represent a challenge as a mission field. However, the Reformed Church in America had a vision to change that. With their help, their denominational partner, the Evangelical Church of the Republic of Niger (EERN) is exploring a partnership with Words of Hope.

Using borrowed facilities, the EERN staff produces a weekly 15-minute radio broadcast in French and another in Hausa.

There are hopes to produce daily Gospel broadcasts in Hausa as well as other significant languages indigenous to Niger. Words of Hope will provide materials and help train local pastors to support this outreach.
