World Vision sets three year rebuilding commitment.

Asia (MNN) — A tragedy of the magnitude seen in Asia in the past few weeks since the tsunami will require years of rebuilding and restoration.

That’s why World Vision has made a three year commitment to invest in the rebuilding phase of relief work. Their efforts will be focused on rebuilding homes, schools, clinics, protecting children, providing small business loans and many other things.

World Visions’s Dean Hirsch says, “Agencies are moving from immediate relief efforts and entering the rebuilding phase. World Vision is in this for the long haul — this is a marathon, not a sprint.”

A Christian relief and development organization, World Vision is dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.

World Vision workers see this as an opportunity to put their Christian faith into action, and ask other Christians to join in the work through prayer and financial support.
