Two Haitian young women recently became single mothers. But with no family to support them and nowhere to go, these young mothers and their babies have been homeless.

For Haiti With Love builds Pilgrim Houses for needy families in Haiti to demonstrate God’s love. But Eva DeHart at For Haiti With Love says they need something fast for these two young moms. Tiny homes fit the ticket.

“They won’t be anything like the [Pilgrom Houses] that we normally build,” DeHart says. “But they will be secure, clean, comfortable shelters for these girls and their babies.”

Before the 2010 earthquake, the Haitian population already lacked 700,000 housing units. Then almost 300,000 homes were destroyed in the earthquake, and few have been rebuilt satisfactorily.

DeHart says, “It’s a growing population without really a growing construction industry. So if there is a home available to rent, the owners can charge top dollar for it. Then it takes several families living in that home to be able to afford it.”

They still need at least $2,000 to start construction on the tiny homes. Whether you can give $2,000, $200, or $20, every little bit helps.

While these two single mothers and their babies wait for housing, please pray for their safety. Ask God to be their comfort and strength.

International (MNN) -- Christians embrace the radical Gospel in the face of hostility

International (MNN) — The year 2010 saw growth in the Christian church
and growth in opposition to the church, said David Shibley of Global
Advance.

"I believe that we have seen exactly what Jesus said we would see,
which is the wheat and the tares growing up together," Shibley explained. "There is tremendous advance for the Gospel
in many parts of the world, at the same time there's increasing hostility. Part of the reason for that increased
hostility is because of the growth of the church worldwide."

In the year 2010, Global Advance provided training initiatives in 33 of
the nations that have the most need for the Gospel. It also held 95 training events for 50,000
pastoral leaders and business leaders around the world.

"I'm honored to lock arms with some of the most courageous people in
all of the world. We've seen that in the Middle East and Southeast Asia and
other Asian nations where the Gospel is often restricted, the church continues
to grow," Shibley said.

Although many of Global Advance's training events are held in areas
that can be very dangerous for Christians, its teams have come home safely
every time for the last twenty years. Shibley credits this fact, as well as everything God has accomplished
for His kingdom through the ministry, to the power of prayer.

"Psalm 2:8 is one of my favorite verses," Shibley said. "It says, ‘Ask of Me, and I will give you
nations for your inheritance, the ends of the earth for your possession.' I'm very grateful for a vigorous prayer team
that voluntarily prays hundreds of hours every week."

Events of 2010 also included a transition of leadership from David Shibley
to his son, Jonathan Shibley, and participation in the Third Lausanne Congress
in Capetown. David Shibley said the theme
for the year was a heightened recognition that the calling to follow Jesus Christ
is a radical calling.

"The great thing that is coming into focus for the church worldwide,
even here in the United States, is the radical nature of the Gospel and that
it will take radical obedience for the fulfilling of the Great commission,"
Shibley said. "Privileged as I was to be
part of the great Third Lausanne Congress in Capetown just a couple of months
ago, I saw this strong commitment to the fulfilling of the Great Commission,
but also a very clear-headed, eyes-open understanding of something of what that
cost will be."

Moving into 2011, Global Advance plans to continue to pursue the call
of Christ by building up church leaders all over the earth. It has plans for a large gathering of all the
strategic leaders and for initiatives to more deliberately pursue discipleship
in church-planting.

"We are convening next year some of our strategic leaders around the
world who partner with us and are door openers for the ministry of Global
Advance," Shibley said. "Built upon a
stronger-than-ever network of relationships that have been forged, often in the
fires of the challenges that our brothers are meeting in many nations, we look
forward to even greater advance in the coming year."

You can join the Global Advance Prayer Force team here. Shibley is confident that the Lord will
prevail in building His church, no matter the times or the opposition.

"Our warfare is against demonic spirits that have postured themselves
all over the world against the Gospel," he said. "But there is no force that is capable of
stopping the advance of the Gospel worldwide. One of the wonderful prophecies concerning the coming of Emmanuel–given 700
years before Jesus came to the earth–God promised that of the increase of His
rule over the earth, there would ultimately be no end. We stand in that faith today."

Int'l (MNN) -- You can help Partners meet international needs in 2010

Int'l (MNN)
— Partners International has raised the bar for 2010. With new ministry possibilities
in sight, Partners plans to double their giving capacity.

"God is
opening doors in places that have been closed in the past," says Partners'
Carlos Calderon.

Despite widespread
talk of global economic downturn, Partners plans to overcome financial
shortage in 2010. Calderon stated doors have been opened beyond Partners'
current giving capabilities. With your help, Partners can overcome financial
barriers.

"For
years, we've been asking people to pray," Calderon says, "and I think
that what we are seeing today is the fact that God has answered those prayers."

He explains
that many ministries now are simply waiting at these opened doors, "waiting
for someone to come and (let me put it this way) be the
answers to our prayers."

Partners'
national ministry workers are ready and willing to serve in new projects, but training and funds are needed in order to move forward. Three ministries in focus are Dalit
and Sudanese education, and disaster relief in Sumatra .

You can help
Partners send workers forth in 2010.

"Just
get in touch with us. We have a special program for children, for women, for church planters — all kinds of places."

Thailand (MNN) -- Vision Beyond Borders partners provide Karen refugees' only food source

Thailand (MNN) — Stopping in Thailand on a recent trip, Vision Beyond Borders visited the hunted Karen people–an ethnic people group ruthlessly hunted by Buddhist and Burmese armies. VBB delivered God's Word to their contacts in closed nations. In the Karen refugee camps, workers heard horrific tales of persecution coupled with a steadfast report of faith. Burmese soldiers recently torched Karen rice fields–their primary source of food.

For 25 years, Burmese refugees have flooded into Thailand. Many refugees are minority Karen people–some of the most persecuted in Burma. Over half of the Karen are reported believers; violent discrimination is supported by the Burmese government.

"One of the generals said, 'By the year 2010, there will be no Karen people left,'" recounted VBB's Patrick Klein. The general expressed his desire "to wipe them off the face of the earth."

With elections in 2010, VBB reports that attacks on the Karen have increased exponentially.

The Burmese army captures Karen men and boys, forcing them to become slaves and porters. Karen women are raped and then burned to death. Every child in the refugee orphanage has a different tale of violence: bombs, shootings, rape, torture, murder. One girl was gang-raped and then hung upside down.

Prowling the Thai border, Burmese soldiers come into camps at night to stop cars, steal valuables, and rape Karen women. Soldiers make a game of tossing infants into the air and trying to spear the baby on their bayonet before it hits the ground.

Despite traumatic attacks and persecution, the Karen persevere in God. Orphans wake up at 4 a.m. to have devotions for two hours. They also have nightly worship.

Attempts are underway to save these Karen refugees. VBB works with several church partners and orphanage programs in Myanmar. Land farther away from the Burma border has been provided for a refugee camp, and almost all funding has been raised. Construction is ready to begin on a new facility, but Thai government approval is still pending.

Refugees have no identification and therefore can't be helped by the Thai government.

Pray for government officials to approve the safer land for a Karen refugee camp. Pray for the survival of starving Karen, and pray that VBB partners maintain sufficient food supplies.

Pray also for ministry opportunities for Karen believers to share their faith with others. Click here to learn how you can help.

Niger (MNN) -- New clinic in Niger to open in 2010

Niger (MNN) — As CURE International prepares to open its
11th clinic in September 2010, Executive Director in Niger Leron Lehman asks
you to pray for God's blessing over this project.

"I think having God's favor and Him preparing
the way and the path for us is gonna be very important."

The clinic will
provide diagnosis and treatment for disabled children and their families.

Lehman says early research into the project showed a
generous community welcome. CURE doesn't expect any resistance or opposition to
the new clinic, even from the Muslim community. In some locations, sharing the love
of Christ through medical care raises hostility.

"Early indications, based on some of the relationships
we've developed there, are that they're welcoming us with open arms,"
Lehman says. "[It] appears that it's a little bit of a different flavor,
so to speak, [in the Niger Muslim community] than maybe we've experienced
in some of our other hospitals in the Middle East.

"It's very clear already, even as we laid the
groundwork, that we're coming as a Christian organization, we want to
share God's love, and that's sort of the point of why we're there. But we also
want to, in a practical way, solve some of the issues…that the country
faces."

As CURE teams continue to plan and train hospital workers,
ask God to give them peace and wisdom.

"You know, there are days when it seems like an overwhelming
task to do the things that have to be accomplished before
we can really start helping children and families."

Pray that the logistics CURE faces in this project
fall into place smoothly and that the clinic opens on schedule. Click

USA (MNN) -- After a successful summer, Ron Hutchcraft Ministries spreads their wings for 2010

USA (MNN) — As fall
transitions to winter, Ron Hutchcraft Ministries looks to spread their wings in
2010. A winter training retreat and an international On Eagles Wings strategy
are on the horizon. The successful "Summer of Hope" report provides
an updraft.

"The only thing we
can say is: the Lord our God is mighty to save," says RHM President Ron
Hutchcraft. "Much that happened this past summer is simply a report on
the answers to the prayers of people like those who listen to [MNN]…I get to
live the answers to prayers of people I've never met."

On Eagles Wings teams
traveled to eight reservations across America's southwestern states. Nearly 600 Native youth gave their hearts to
Christ, and each reservation holds believers committed to following up with new
believers.

Hutchcraft says Native
American and First Nations youth in North America are the hardest demographic
to reach with the message of salvation.
A myriad of moral obstacles litter their paths.

"All of the years
of loss have fallen on them, giving them the highest rates of alcohol abuse,
drug abuse, sexual abuse, and violent crime–and worst of all, suicide,"
says Hutchcraft.

On one reservation,
teams walked into a realm of hopelessness.

"Even among our young
team members from many reservations, their hearts were broken as they went
there. They're used to seeing poverty, they live with it," Hutchcraft
stated. "But this seemed like something beyond anything they've ever
seen."

The reservation held an
85-percent unemployment rate and was rampant with drugs and gang activity. OEW
faced many challenges related to weather and gang activity; teams experienced a
"close shave" when gang members were frightened away before they
could detonate a homemade bomb.

And yet the Gospel
continued to flourish. Many reservations reported an "unprecedented
response" to the Gospel when OEW teams came to minister. Hutchcraft says
OEW is one of the ministry's prayer focuses as this year draws to a
close.

"They come under
enormous satanic attacks," says Hutchcraft, "and because of their
broken and dysfunctional backgrounds, Satan pushes every button he can to try
and neutralize or detour these young warriors who are making history."

Pray that OEW team
members continue to walk strong in their faith and become spiritual leaders.
Pray also for resources to enable local believers with a heart
for Native youth to start youth ministries.

"If the local
people put that to work as we equip them to do, the potential is there for a
great moment to become a great movement for Christ among the next
generation."

Keep the young people
who sought Christ for salvation this summer in your prayers.

"They are
surrounded by traditional religion, by almost-epidemic drug and alcohol levels,
and families that are too broken to be supportive. It is a toxic spiritual
environment in which to try to grow up in Christ. Really pray that God will
grow them into leaders for Christ who can turn the tide in their
generation."
