International (MNN) — Christian literature makes an exciting journey from store shelves to the other side of the world.

International (MNN) — Many homes have extra Bibles and Christian books they’d like to pass along. Mission Cry helps those gifts cross oceans and borders to reach new readers.

That global Bible and Christian literature distribution work began 70 years ago when a junk dealer found a Bible in a garbage can. Jason Woolford of Mission Cry says, “He saved it. Once he got a box of these Bibles, he sent that first box to India.”

Since then, the ministry has sent Bibles and Christian books to 181 countries, an estimated $500 million in materials. Woolford says the impact is personal: “When people open the Word of God and read it, they’re having hope!”

Reading Bible (Photo courtesy of Chris Liu via Unsplash)

The ministry collects Bibles and Christian books from donors, store shelves, garage sales, and bookstores.

“When those Bibles and Christian books come in, they go through a seven-sort process,” Woolford explains. “They get packaged, boxed, palletized, shrink-wrapped.” Then they’re loaded into sea containers and sent to distribution points around the world, where people receive the Word of God free of charge.

Those private donations also bring supporters into the global Gospel movement. Woolford calls it “having the ability to become a missionary without ever leaving their home and sending the word that doesn’t return void.”

More importantly, people desperate for hope are getting access to its source. Woolford says, “People that are being martyred for their faith, people that are being beaten, losing their jobs, their churches lit on fire, and in most cases, this happening to them for a God they’re serving, but they can’t even read about because they can’t afford a Bible, and we’re changing that.”

The ministry also collects testimonies of how Scripture in the home changes families and communities, helping people become better mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, and better citizens who understand how to handle money and honor those in authority.

Pray for Mission Cry to find more books and for the Holy Spirit’s guidance on where to send them. You can also sponsor a container, a portion of a container, or support the ministry.

South Africa (MNN) — Mission Cry prepares to send sea containers full of Bibles and Christian books to Cape Town, South Africa.

South Africa (MNN) — This year, Mission Cry is stepping out in faith and is preparing to send six sea containers of Bibles and Christian books to Cape Town, South Africa.

Last year was the first year that Mission Cry began shipping to Cape Town, and the organization was able to send four full shipping containers.

This had been a leap of faith for both the suppliers and recipients last year, as they sought to trust God with what they could handle.

Beginning in February, the 2026 shipments will leave every two months to continue in the work that the Word of God is already doing in South Africa.

Jason Woolford with Mission Cry says that the organization received amazing testimonies of the work happening in this area amidst gang issues and crime rises.

Woolford says that when he sees the devil working overtime, he knows the devil is trying to stop something great. God willing, this distribution point will continue to be a place that fights against the evil working in the world.

Please pray that the containers sent to Cape Town, South Africa, this year will touch the hearts of individuals who do not know the Lord.

International (MNN)—Even as China has introduced new religious restrictions within the country and expanded its control of Hong Kong in recent years, Mission Cry continues to deliver Bibles to Hong Kong and then further, into mainland China.

Mission Cry had four containers in process to go out by the end of 2025, each containing used Bibles and Christian resources. One of those was bound for Hong Kong, where Jason Woolford, president of Mission Cry, says the organization continues to have favor with a few businesses.

“Obviously, I can’t go into great detail on that, but we’re able to send these to those businesses,” says Woolford. “Those businesses then strategically get them to our team on the ground, and then from there, they make their way in through Hong Kong and then strategically into Shenzhen and mainland China. So God continues to give us favor in that area.”

The other three containers were being sent to Uganda, Malawi, and Ghana. Each container is worth approximately half a million dollars in Bibles, Christian books, and seminary materials, plus the $11,000 it costs to send the container out and get it to its destination, according to Woolford. However, the spiritual value is even greater.

“God’s word’s the only thing that doesn’t return void. That’s the greatest Christmas present that we could give anybody.”

Pray that Mission Cry’s containers would continue to be delivered safely and that people would come alongside and sponsor more containers, as well as on behalf of Mission Cry’s state coordinators, missionaries, and everyone who makes the distribution of these Christian resources possible.

To those interested in financially supporting Mission Cry’s work, Jason asks, “before you write that check or make your giving, that you would go before the Lord and not do what you can do, but do what the Lord would have you do.”

Pakistan (MNN) – Repairs are ongoing after deadly floods swept through Kasur, Pakistan, in August.

Pakistan (MNN) – Repairs are ongoing after deadly floods swept through Kasur, Pakistan, in August.

Jason Woolford with Mission Cry says there is devastation in this area as thousands of villages were submerged by floodwaters.

The body of Christ is also hurting in Kasur, as Christian girls and women are specifically targeted for sexual abuse.

“Combining both of those things, flooding, loss of food and hope, and the attacks on Christian women there, we wanted to come in and bring hope,” Woolford says. “We did that [by] bringing boatloads of rice, food, and most importantly, the Word of God, the only thing that doesn’t return void.”

Mission Cry is working to feed people physically and spiritually, and people are responding.

“We’re seeing hope and joy, because these people are being forgotten about, especially with their so-called God, when the real God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are showing up in word form and through our Mission Cry team,” Woolford says.

The need in Kasur remains strong. Mission Cry went door to door and provided two weeks of food relief rations, but wants to again.

Philippines (MNN) — This spring, Mission CRY sent 20,000 Bible booklets into Cebu, Philippines, for ministry that saw radical testimonies in the midst of spiritual warfare.

Philippines (MNN) — This spring, Mission CRY sent 20,000 Bible booklets into Cebu, Philippines, for ministry that saw radical testimonies in the midst of spiritual warfare.

Besides the ministry to former inmates, Mission CRY recently heard about the miraculous story of how their team was protected during a distribution.

Jason Woolford with Mission Cry says a distribution team in the Philippine Sea was headed to the Caubian islands, in their weighed-down, makeshift bamboo boat when a storm hit.

“They had too many men, too many booklets, and the propeller had hit a rock and broken off,” Woolford says. “And of course, just then a storm sets in, and as the storm was coming over them, they said it was chaos everywhere, but the Lord was protecting them.”

The storm passed over the island and around them, keeping the boat from sinking. The people and supplies stayed dry, knowing that God was protecting them.

Mission Cry sent Bible materials to the Philippines.

Missing their propeller, those in the boat began to pray. After the storm, they discovered the propeller undamaged and in eight feet of water. They put it back on the boat and completed the mission of sharing God’s Word.

“Think of these men on this makeshift boat, trusting God, believing and then being able to complete their mission,” Woolford says. “I wonder how many people would have turned back around if they had the chance. But instead, they stood their ground, and so to God be the glory. It just shows that you can’t stop what God wants done.”

Mission CRY has sent over $500 million in free Bibles and Christian books to 180 nations around the world.

Woolford says Mission CRY is humbled to do this good work. The Word of God is more valuable than physical things.

“Food, water, clothes, it all returns void at the end of the day, but the Word of God doesn’t. It’s the only thing that does not return void,” Woolford says.

“We’ve seen this in whether we’re ministering in prisons, setting up Bible colleges, seminaries, orphanages, you name it,” Woolford says. “There are no issues when people take in clothes or take in water; there seems to be no spiritual warfare in those, but as soon as you bring the Word of God, that’s when the battle begins.”

Please pray for the Mission CRY team and for the difficulties they experience taking Scripture into difficult places. Pray that people will continue in the good work of distributing materials despite spiritual warfare.

Pray that these materials will transform lives, shaping fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and citizens, and bringing eternal change.

Cuba (MNN)—Mission Cry had the opportunity to distribute 10,000 Spanish Bibles to Cuba and the surrounding areas.

Cuba (MNN)—Mission Cry exists to evangelize the world by distributing free Christian literature to spiritually-needy people, sending Bibles around the world since 1956. In recent months, this has included sending their Spanish New Testament Bibles to Cuba, according to Mission Cry President Jason Woolford.

“We haven’t got to go to Cuba a lot, but we’ve had the opportunity to send 10,000 Spanish Bibles into Cuba and the surrounding areas,” says Woolford. “We’ve had the chance to put them on a container in Florida, getting to Cuba and then starting that distribution.”

Cuba is number 26 on World Watch’s list of 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. Church leaders and Christian activists who criticize the Cuban regime can face interrogation, arrest, physical violence, and imprisonment; the government often refuses to register new churches, forcing many to operate illegally, which makes them vulnerable to fines, property confiscation, and demolition.

“Our Mission Cry partner there on the ground, he has been beaten, he has been kidnapped and arrested, multiple times, and yet he continues to go back and distribute the word of God,” says Woolford.

According to the Cuban Observatory of Citizen Audit, crime is also increasing at an alarming rate. However, that’s not deterring Woolford.

“Crime’s on the rise due to economic hardship and a shortage of food and medicine and fuel. And so it’s so exciting to know that we have the word there, giving it to people that are in a bad way, those that are being persecuted, and then hopefully reaching those that are doing the persecuting and seeing a difference,” he says. “We’re going to continue to trust God and minister regardless of the violent crime and scams and targeted violence against people distributing the Word of God like our guy.”

“When we see the word of God being distributed, when we see lives being changed, if you can imagine stuff going out from Cuba to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia—seeing how God’s using that as a hub is truly miraculous.”

Amid the devastating flash floods that hit Uttarakhand, India, on Tuesday, Mission Cry has a container with Bibles and Christian resources on the way to northern India.

India (MNN) — After intense flooding in the Himalayan village of Dharali, in the state of Uttarakhand, India, over 190 people have been rescued, four have been killed, and 100 remain missing.

The northern region of the country is set to receive a distribution of Bibles and Christian resources soon from Mission Cry, although distributing to this area means navigating state anti-conversion laws.

“It is against the law in the country of India, via their president, to send Bibles,” says Mission Cry President, Reverend Jason Woolford. “That has not stopped us.”

“If you convert from being a Christian and ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior, you could be at (risk) of death, imprisonment, for sure. And we’ve seen this already in India and in Pakistan, where churches are being destroyed, set on fire,” says Woolford.

“There’s a very real spiritual battle taking place, and our brothers and sisters are crying out for the Word of God.”

In Africa, where Boko Haram came in, a missionary there told Woolford, “Reverend, our people, your brothers and sisters, are being killed or murdered, beaten for a God that they can’t even read about.”

The same is happening in Northern India and around the globe as brothers and sisters seek the ability to read about the one true God.

The average American has six Bibles on their shelves. In places of poverty, people cannot afford the very book they defend. When they receive a Bible from someone with plenty, they cherish the book and love it, thankful for the opportunity.

Mission Cry needs the materials to send and the resources to send them.

“When we send a container, it (costs) $11,000, but that has half a million dollars worth of free Bibles and Christian books in it. (With) this particular container to India, we have to pay more, and we have to do things to basically give money to some people to be able to get this cleared secretly with no issues,” says Woolford.

Please pray that when this container arrives, it’s cleared with no issues and that God will provide the funds for the mission. Pray that God will prompt and break the hearts of people at the right times to come alongside the ministry. Pray also for the ministry and leadership for protection as they go into areas of spiritual upheaval. Pray for the families and individuals whose homes and lives have been destroyed or lost by the flood. Pray that God will work through this event to reach people.

Mission Cry is having a bible drive and is asking people to go through their homes to look for Bibles, go to thrift stores, garage sales, and local bookstores, and tell them about Mission Cry.

For locals to the Fowlerville, Michigan area, donations can be delivered in person; otherwise, donations can be shipped.

Engage your congregation in this drive and let the world hear your mission cry. Go to missioncry.com or contact the organization at 517-223-3193.

India (MNN) -- Anti-Christian violence escalates in northern India; attacks on believers rise over 550 percent in 10 years.

India (MNN) — Anti-Christian violence is escalating in northern India, with attacks on believers rising over 550 percent in the past decade.

According to data compiled by the United Christian Forum (UCF), a Christian movement, the number of reported incidents targeting Christians catapulted from 127 cases in 2014 to 834 in 2024.

“We’re seeing this rise of Hindu nationalism in these areas,” Mission Cry’s Jason Woolford says.

“They’re imprisoning, martyring, and bringing Christians up on charges for simply telling people about the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Mission Cry sends used Bibles and Christian books from the US to believers around the world. More about that here. Contacts in India tell Woolford about “church services [being] disrupted, attacks on people while they’re worshiping; vandalizing [of] Christian institutions, and these are getting more frequent,” he says.

“They’re being livestreamed and publicized to intimidate Christians from going to church and worshiping God.”

Hindu nationals seek to “purify” India by making it entirely Hindu. More about that here. Many pastors and evangelists have been beaten and jailed, and several are martyred each year. Still, the Church continues to grow.

“Pray for our people on the ground, the ones going into these areas and risking their lives to distribute the Word of God and to train students up in the ways of the Lord,” Woolford says.

“They’re willing to risk anything and everything they have for the sake of discipling and giving people a chance to ask Jesus into their life.”

Mission Cry partners train and equip evangelists in northern India, a hotbed of persecution. Send them critical resources by helping Mission Cry fill and ship a container.

“We’re talking about tens of thousands of people being reached just off one container with distribution of books and then the training of many, many more,” Woolford says.

“We’ve sent two containers there already this year. There are some very strategic and ‘special ops’ things that we’re working to get done. We would ask you to continue to give and support Mission Cry and these containers.”
