More than 50 Christian organizations made One Miracle Night possible, and many of them reported miraculous movements of God in the weeks that followed. Mosques were torn down and churches planted in a country we can’t name for security purposes.

Hosted on YouTube by Jesus Film Project, One Miracle Night organizes prayer for Muslims on Laylat al-Qadr, or Night of Power – the holiest night of Ramadan:

The first 20 days of Ramadan are seen as preparation for the final 10 days of fasting. Muslims should be the most zealous and most sincere during the final days of fasting, with Laylat al-Qadr being the pinnacle of blessing.

The Qu’ran teaches that blessings of a thousand months can be received on this night. Muslims seek forgiveness for their sins, and many pray for revelations or visions. Let’s pray they encounter Jesus and His love.

One Miracle Night begins at 8 am Eastern Time tomorrow. This global gathering of believers will pray in 15-minute blocks, asking Jesus to reveal Himself to hearts that are seeking Him.

No Muslim holiday is more important than Laylat al Qadr, or “Night of Power.” It’s the commemoration of when the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammed and falls sometime during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

As such, the last week and a half of Ramadan is thought to be especially spiritual. Midnight prayers are underway in many countries, and thousands gathered in Damascus on Friday to mark Laylat al Qadr, Zahraa al-Derzi reports.

As Muslims step up their efforts, more of your prayers are needed, too.

According to Frontiers USA, 86% of the world’s nearly 2 billion Muslims have never even met a Christian. That percentage can be broken down into 1,108 people groups.

“At the current rate of us getting into these unengaged groups, it’s going to take another 53 years to just send the first teams,” observes Frontiers’ Perry LaHaie.

Reaching Muslims for Christ

Frontiers USA sends teams to unengaged Muslim people groups with one mission: introduce followers of Islam to the One who died to save them. There’s a tremendous need for this mission to be fulfilled.

Over one billion Muslims belong to what the International Mission Board deems an Unengaged Unreached People Group (UUPG) — a people group where “the number of Evangelical Christians is less than 2% of its population and there is no church planting strategy consistent with Evangelical faith and practice underway.”

“In a lot of cases, there are no Christians in nearby areas. There are no Christians to work with,” says LaHaie, explaining why Frontiers sends outreach teams to these areas.

According to the IMB’s latest UUPG report, the largest numbers of Muslim UUPGs are located in Sub-Sahara Africa, South Asia, and the so-called “Arab World.”

“In Revelation 7:9, John has a vision of every tribe, people, language, and tongue exploding in worship before Jesus in the New Heavens and the New Earth…that includes these 1,108 Muslim people groups,” LaHaie notes.

“Are we going to be the generation that helps speed that day? Or are we going to pass it on to the next generation?”

Ramadan is the "holy month" of Islam, during which, Muslims believe, the Muslim prophet Muhammad received the Islamic holy book, the Qur'an. All month, Muslims have been abstaining from food and water until sundown. Some have even traveled to the Muslim holy city of Mecca.

Throughout the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims are often more sensitive to spiritual issues, seeking God as perhaps they have not in the past. This openness to seeking God causes many Christians to pray daily for Muslims during Ramadan.

If ever there was a day to pray throughout the month, however, it's tomorrow.

Tomorrow is what's known as the Night of Power, or the Night of Destiny during Ramadan. The Night of Power is the very night that Muslims believe revelations were first given to Muhammad. During this night, more than perhaps any other night of the year, Muslims are praying and seeking spiritually.

"They believe that God in that night will answer your prayer and change your destiny for that year," explains Crescent Project founder Fouad Masri. "So on that night, many Muslims are spending time in prayer, in request. They might be reciting the Qur'an. Devout Muslims try to use that night as a way to change their fate, to change their destiny for the next year."

Because Muslims are praying more than ever during the Night of Power, believers are praying more than ever for Muslims.

"There are a lot of Christians meeting together, also praying for Muslims that night, because Muslims are very spiritually in tune; maybe they're thinking about eternity, maybe they're thinking about their destiny," says Masri.

Prayer is vital. Already this month, Crescent Project has seen Muslims come to Christ one after another, in part as a result of kneeling believers.

"We are seeing the fruit of those prayers, number one, in the openness in Muslims' hearts," notes Masri, who says Muslims are more open to the Gospel now than ever. "The second thing is the changes we see in the Muslim world."

As the Muslim world continues to evolve with new governments and alternative ways of thinking, people are starting to question Islam. Hearts are open and are responding to Christ.

"The prayers are being answered, [and] it's happening on different levels: openness of society, openness of Muslims, and then Muslims becoming believers in Jesus."
