Sammy Tippit Ministries set to create its own app

By February 24, 2021

International (MNN) –The messaging app WhatsApp fell under controversy in January. Many people thought it was sharing their personal data after changes to a privacy policy.

Sammy Tippit Ministries uses WhatsApp to connect small groups of believers all around the world. Sammy Tippit says the controversy hasn’t affected these groups.

However, the limitations of social media platforms have led the ministry to create its own set of apps. Tippit says, “We’ll be able to do our evangelism training, our discipleship, our leadership training right through this app that we’re creating. [In the past] we’ve driven a number of people, thousands, from Facebook to WhatsApp. Now I’m going to try to move them from WhatsApp to our app, once we get that completed.”

Sammy Tippit Ministries will actually create 15 different apps for the 15 different languages they work with. These languages include Hindi, Portuguese, and Albanian.

Coming soon!

Tippit hopes these apps will start rolling out by late spring, with some languages getting completed later in the year. “Starting this year, I’m going to have a Zoom meeting with the leaders of each of these language groups. We had our first meeting on January 11, with Hindi leaders. We had about 80 Hindi leaders on Zoom, and I started training them.”

Pray for the translation efforts needed to complete the app in all 15 languages. Learn how to get involved at Sammy Tippit Ministres’ website.
