Topping the news, Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has made some bold statements that likely will mean an increase in the war against the Christian-dominated South. Voice of the Martyrs’ Tom Tremble explains. “The President of Sudan recently met with 12-thousand troops at a mobilization rally and encouraged them to continue their holy war in southern Sudan.” Tremble says that the situation is likely to get worse before it gets better. At another summit, Bashir said some things that are of concern to Christians. “He repeated call for the jihad, or the holy war against Israel and he told his audience that the battles that are being fought by his army and the popular defense of the Khartoum government in Eastern and Southern Sudan were only exercises, and I quote, “for the major battle in Palestine.” “
