(Sudan)–Headlining today’s news, as the war on terrorism continues, the country of Sudan is sending mixed messages. Voice of the Martyrs’ Gary Lane explains. “On one hand they’ll say ‘yes, we want peace, we’re going to work toward peace, we want a dialogue with the United States’. On the other hand, they’re allowing this major group that’s tied to the government, calling on volunteers, calling for a holy war against Israel. They’re going to set up training camps for terrorists to wage jihad against the Israelis and back the Palestinians. It shows the Sudanese government is still the same old Sudanese government, their terrorists.” However, Lane says it’s not stopping the growth of the church. “What we do at VOM is give them the tools they need to go out and evangelize and win their country for Christ, and they’re doing that. We have helped them show the Jesus Film all over Sudan, and it’s just unbelievable how many people come to Christ from seeing that film.” Voice of the Martyrs is also supplying Blankets of Love and Life Packs to help with their physical needs.
