Missionaries are beaten for sharing Christ in India.

India (MNN)–Gospel for Asia reports at least two of their missionaries in India have been attacked and beaten in the last few days.

The more recent incident occurred November 19 in a North Indian village. A mob stormed the home of GFA missionary Budhudas, and beat him while others ransacked his home.

The mob seized and burned more than 200 New Testaments, along with other ministry-related literature. At one point, law enforcement tried to stop the situation, but failed.

Pressured by the mob, village authorities then told the missionaries to leave. Joined by his wife and children, Budhudas fled the area for shelter.

In an earlier, unrelated incident, a traveling evangelistic team led by a GFA missionary was attacked while working in Orissa and severely beaten.

Pray for those who continue evangelical work despite a rising level of harassment in India.
