Middle East Refugee Crisis
The Middle East refugee crisis can no longer be ignored. Moved by the heart-wrenching image of Aylan Kurdi, many in the Body of Christ are now asking, What can I do to help?
We’ve created this page to help answer that question. Outlined below are Mission Network News partners who are responding to the Middle East refugee crisis, bringing both help and hope in Christ’s name.
By supporting these projects, you can help refugees know they are more than a statistic.

AMG International is sharing the love of Christ by providing food and water to refugees fleeing from countries like Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Opportunities to share the Gospel are plentiful and AMG ministries of Greece are on the ground and face-to-face sharing the compassion of Christ in deed and with the Word of God.
Baptist Global Response
In Iraq, up to 300 families will receive temporary housing and up to 500 will receive various food items from Baptist Global Response. In Syria, BGR is distributing food and hygiene items, blankets and medicine to 2500-4000 refugee families as well as diapers and formula for families with young children.
For as little as $1, you can provide someone with food and water for a day. The more you give, the more hope you will spread among refugees.
Christian Aid Mission
In Christ’s name, local believers helped by Christian Aid Mission are bringing food to empty bellies and hope to weary souls.
If you are willing to help meet the needs of refugees within Syria and Iraq, do not wait. Do not forget. Please donate now.
In the fall of 2014, ReachGlobal set a 3-year goal of raising $250,000 to help the refugees escaping the conflict surrounding Syria. Their vision is to tangibly minister Christ’s love among the refugees, building relationships, multiplying disciples, and planting churches.

A church working with E3 Partners in Syria tries to visit about 100 families per month. The needs vary from household to household, but it is estimated that it costs $20,000.00 per month to provide the most basic of needs.
Food for the Hungry
When refugees flee, they leave everything behind. Through FH, you can help meet immediate needs and provide support as refugees try to rebuild their lives.
Through their Alpha Relief ministry, Global Advance mobilizes and educates the Body of Christ to meet physical and spiritual needs of people living in countries where Christians are persecuted.
Global Aid Network (GAiN)
GAIN’s primary focus is on Middle Eastern refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Southern Iraq. The ministry is putting the Gospel message into action, and turning refugee camps into sanctuaries.
International Needs is coming to the rescue of refugees in Turkey by providing immediate relief items. But physical aid is only half the goal. As International Needs assists the suffering, they ensure Christ’s love is evident.
Kids Alive International
Kids Alive International’s Oasis program provides a safe place for traumatized Syrian children. Since it began in November 2014, their numbers are up to 100, and Kids Alive is hoping to at least double that (60 to 100 more children) this year.
Open Doors USA
Open Doors field workers report a $20 million funding gap for Christian refugees displaced by the Islamic State. More Christians are being displaced each month, and do not have access to food.
Sadly, in spite of the need, few organizations are staying. Open Doors has been in the region for more than 25 years and is committed to staying there long-term.
Over the last three years in Syria , OM has helped tens of thousands of families physically, emotionally and spiritually. Significant numbers have met Christ for the first time.
In Europe, OM is helping Christians mobilize and unite their efforts to help refugees seeking safe haven within their borders.
To come alongside OM by giving or going, please contact your local OM office.
Education is a desperate need for refugee children in the Middle East, as opportunities for schooling are often scarce. Thanks to SAT-7, kids can start learning again, simply by turning on the TV.
Tent Schools International
“Tent schools” are becoming a solution to the education shortfall among refugee children. For each tent school start-up, a total of $20,200 is needed for tent materials, school supplies, rent, heating fuel and three 10-month teacher salaries. Each school will serve 50 children who haven’t been to school in months, or in some cases, years, since fleeing Syria or other conflict zones.
Vision Beyond Borders
Vision Beyond Borders is gathering and packing much-needed supplies and preparing to ship those items to their partners in the Middle East. Upon arrival, the crates will be unpacked and supplies distributed to refugees in Jordan and Iraq.
VOM Canada is partnering with reputable in-country partners to bring needed practical aid and encouragement to struggling believers in Iraq.
By helping VOM fill an Action Pack, you and your family can give Christians in the Middle East a tangible reminder that they are not alone.
Refugees need hope just as much as physical aid. World Mission is providing both with an audio Bible called The Treasure.
World Missionary Press
World Missionary Press is sending partners in Europe free Scripture booklets to share with Middle East refugees.
Since the materials are free to partners, WMP needs your help to cover shipping and production costs. Each donated dollar provides the equivalent of twenty-five 48-page topical Scripture booklets to reach people in their own language.
Please support these ministries as overwhelming physical and spiritual needs continue.
