A source familiar with North Korean internal affairs told Korea JoongAng Daily the executions happened November 3 in cities with notable economic development. A reason for the killings is not known at this time.

The accusations varied, but some people were killed for having a Bible. Victims’ families and friends were reportedly sent to North Korea’s notorious gulags.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily’s report, 10,000 people in the city of Wonsan were reportedly forced to watch the executions at Shinpoong Stadium. Children were among the citizens forced to gather for the slaughter.

Eight people were supposedly tied to stakes at the stadium. After their heads were covered by white sacks, they were shot with a machinegun.

“I heard from the residents that they watched in terror as the corpses were [so] riddled by machinegun fire that they were hard to identify afterwards,” the source told Korea JoongAng Daily.

North Korea tops Open Doors USA’s World Watch List, a compilation of the world’s worst persecutors of Christians. Ask the Lord to protect and strengthen His followers in this nation. Pray more people become aware of this tragedy. Pray they raise their voices on behalf of the persecuted.
