International (MNN) — Twenty years of marriage is traditionally symbolized by fine china. The Seed Company’s Mark Kordic says they’re using something different to mark 20 years of translation work with Wycliffe Bible Translators USA.

They’re using a song that symbolizes the power of God’s Word, written and recorded by contemporary Christian songwriter Brenton Brown.
“It’s like John 1:14, Jesus coming to dwell with His people. That’s happening over, and over, and over again in all these language communities that we work with,” Kordic explains.
“Brenton recorded a song that kind of captured the mystery of Jesus being the Word of God, the living Word of God.”

The Seed Company was launched by Wycliffe in 1993 with a mandate to accelerate Bible translation. It started with 10 pilot projects linked to prayer partners and investors.
When the group began, founder Bernie Mae’s vision was to start 200 translation projects in 10 years.
“By God’s grace, after those 10 years, The Seed Company was working in 208 languages,” says Kordic.
A new publication, “SeedLinks” holds stories of men and women impacted by the work of The Seed Company. In each issue, people tell how God has used them to bring His Word to people groups for the very first time.

With another decade and over 900 projects under their belt, Kordic says The Seed Company’s work is nearing completion.
“We can see the end of the language portion of the Great Commission, and we believe that the translator that will be involved…in that language is alive today,” he says.
