MENA (MNN) -- Frontiers USA can inform your prayers for persecuted Christians in the Muslim world

MENA (MNN) — When you pray for the persecuted Church around the world, what do you pray for? Do you ask God to simply remove persecuted Christians from their hostile contexts? Or do you pray for their faithful witness in the midst of persecution?

Yesterday was the annual International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) – a time for concentrated prayer for the encouragement and perseverance of believers who are attacked because of their faith. Although IDOP 2020 is over, Frontiers USA president Bob Blincoe has some thoughts on how we can continue to meaningfully support the persecuted Church.

Frontiers USA supports Gospel outreach in the Muslim world. Blincoe says rather than pull the Church out of persecution contexts like the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), believers need to recognize that persecution is a hopeful sign that the Gospel is present in hostile regions.

(Photo courtesy of Imani Bahati via Unsplash)

“There are places in the Muslim world where the Church is not persecuted because there is no Church,” Blincoe says. “There are no churches gathered in many Muslim countries.

“Let’s keep pressing on, sending missionaries, and not be simply shocked and paralyzed because there is a persecuted Church. [Let’s] not simply feel sorry for the persecuted Church. Although our sorrow and grief are real, let us push on until the witness of the Gospel has gone to the Afghanistans of the world [and] the Pakistans of the world.”

When facing persecution, Jesus commands His followers in Matthew 5:44 to “pray for those who persecute you.”

For example, take Ronnie Smith, an American Christian who moved to Benghazi, Libya as a teacher and was killed for his faith in 2013. Ronnie went on a morning jog and was gunned down, leaving behind his wife Anita and their young son.

After Ronnie’s martyrdom, Anita bore witness to her husband’s legacy of faith.

“[Anita] was subsequently interviewed on Muslim networks all over the world, including American English language networks, expressing her forgiveness for the men who took her husband’s life,” Blincoe says.

“People had no category for what she was able to do. So God has borne witness to the love of Christ, even in the midst of her terrible loss.”

Please commit to regular prayer throughout the year for the persecuted Church. A good place to start is Frontiers’ prayer guides for both believers and non-believers in the Muslim world.

Click here for prayer guides with Frontiers!

Blincoe says, “We pray that the good news that has come to us will prevail in the Muslim world and they will be part of the free world now and part of God’s eternal Church in the life to come.”

North Africa (MNN) -- The Gospel takes two villages from bitter enemies to peaceful neighbors

North Africa (MNN) — Salal and Wadibou, two villages* in a Muslim country in North Africa, became bitter enemies when ethnic violence swept their nation. People from both villages began attacking each other – stealing cattle, raiding homes, and even committing murder. Hundreds of men from both villages were killed.

Mahmoud, a man from Wadibou, remembers playing with other kids from Salal growing up. But after violence broke out and the attacks began, Mahmoud came to hate the enemy village.

However, all of that changed when Mahmoud met Eric, a Frontiers USA missionary who moved to the area to study the language.

Frontiers’ president Bob Blincoe says, “Mahmoud began to meet with Eric and became attracted to the… cause of Christ and presented himself for baptism.”

(Photo courtesy of Nate Greno via Unsplash)

It wasn’t long before Mahmoud’s family in Wadibou also accepted Christ. Then, they were moved by the Holy Spirit to do something radical: make peace with their enemies in Salal.

“You can imagine the sudden shock that it was for the receiving village…when they showed up there and wanted to be part of a transformation that would bring about peace between the two of them. So now, Mahmoud’s sister says, ‘Joy has returned to our people and to the other village.’”

Blincoe says, “The blessing has also brought physical changes, physical improvements as people are no longer worried about having their things stolen. They are building a school in a storeroom and a medical facility and bringing about the things of the kingdom of God because of the conversion of Mahmoud and his family.

“We praise God for the power of the cross to heal long-standing bitterness between different people groups.”

The Gospel is changing the Muslim world, and Frontiers needs your help to keep advancing the Great Commission.

“We have created a list of 100 peoples in places in the Muslim world where there are zero missionaries,” Blincoe says. “Our next mission is to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to these next 100 places.”

To give and support Frontiers’ missionaries in the Muslim world, click here!

Iraq (MNN) -- Christian father from a Muslim background gets to baptize his son

Iraq (MNN) — To be born into a Muslim family in Iraq is to be Muslim. Stepping out of that structure can lead to denouncement, persecution, and even death. That’s why Christians from Muslim backgrounds often hide their faith from family and friends.

However, Frontiers USA shared an encouraging story with us about one former Muslim father in Iraq who recently became a Christian. This man got to do something not many Christian fathers get to do: baptize his own son.

An Outward Ripple of Faith

Uday came from a devout Muslim family, part of the 98 percent of Iraqis who are Muslim. Two decades ago, Uday encountered a missionary who shared the Gospel with him. This began Uday’s journey to Christ. When he met a worker from Frontiers USA, the two began studying the Bible together, and Uday’s faith began to flourish.

Frontiers President Bob Blincoe says, “He went home every day after the Bible study and shared it with his son…. That’s an amazing thing when you see a man who doesn’t want to be a believer in secret. He wanted to redeem the people around him, especially his own family.”

Finally, the day came when Uday wanted to make a public profession of faith.

“Uday was baptized with several other new believers in that city. Coming up from the water, Uday turned to his son and baptized his son. We didn’t know that the son had come to faith, but because of the father sharing his faith in the family all the time, his son came to faith too,” Blincoe says.

“So now we’re thrilled that these two have come to faith. And another young man named Hamid – a colleague and friend of the son of Uday – has also come to the faith. So Hamid and Uday’s son are now two believers who have linked arms with one another to endure in the faith despite persecution and to share their faith with many more.”

Iraqi Culture

According to Open Doors USA, Iraq has a very tribal culture. Rejection of Islam is seen as a rejection of heritage and family.

Muslim family members in Iraq often take it upon themselves to avenge the dishonor they perceive has been brought on their family by attacking or killing Christian converts.

“You can understand how important it is then when more than one family member and sometimes entire families come to faith,” Blincoe says. “There is still a threat from the administers of Islam, but there is no longer a threat from the immediate family.”

That’s why whole families in Iraq coming to faith in Jesus is so powerful – a redeemed family changes the legacy of entire generations.

Fruitful Missions in the Muslim World

As Frontiers continues to carry out faithful ministry in the Muslim world, Blincoe says they hope to see more families like Uday’s come to know Jesus.

“We’ve had so many failures of planting churches in the Muslim world that it has driven us back to the Bible to find almost what’s hidden in plain sight. In the book of Acts, in the book of Genesis, in the great number of households that Paul is greeting at the end of Romans 16… whole families come to faith and link arms to one another to help one another and be encouraged.

“It’s one of those keys that the Bible talks about – the whole family coming to faith – that have increased the number of enduring churches in the Muslim world.”

So how can you pray? Blincoe offers this simple yet profound request: “Pray for whole families to come to faith in the Muslim world.”

International (MNN) -- Passion fuels Perry Lahaie's work with Frontiers USA

International (MNN) – Passion is the driving force behind many ministry workers and Perry Lahaie is no different in his work for Frontiers USA.

Lahaie says, “I’ve always had a passion since Jesus Christ (I like to say) crashed into my life and showed me His grace. (I want) to get the Gospel to people who’ve never had a chance to hear it. So I thought, ‘I wonder if I can use my radio and music gifts in a mission organization….and that’s how I eventually landed at Frontiers.”

Frontiers is an international missions community reaching out to the Muslim world. Their mission, “With love and respect, inviting all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus,” is the driving force behind their ministry.

“There are over a thousand Muslim people groups that right now we would consider unengaged. That means there’s nobody on the ground trying to reach out and start a movement of the Gospel,” Lahaie says. “So we are particularly focused on trying to reach those 1000+ unengaged Muslim people groups.”

Lahaie discovered Frontiers through people at his church. “[I] found my tribe of people who have the same passions that I have. I have found in Frontiers kindred spirits.”

Using both his radio and music skills, he works with Frontiers to mobilize Christians in getting the Good News to all Muslims. “We want to send people to the Muslim people groups, but we also need people who are sharing the vision, mobilizing people, and creating the desire and fuel and passion to go.” Lahaie views himself as an influencer for the mission of Frontiers.

Music is another platform on which Lahaie introduces and draws people closer to Christ. “I write songs that share about Jesus’ amazing grace and the need to take His grace to the nations,” he says. “So the songs themselves talk about the heartbeat of God, how much He loves us and that He wants us to be joining Him in His work to reach the nations.”

Lahaie has released a new album entitled, Him, that can be found on his website. Describing his album, Lahaie says, “It’s this love story about, as Sally Lloyd-Jones puts it, ‘a brave prince who leaves his palace, his throne, his everything, to rescue the ones he loves.’ Him is all about this grand story we are in and the part we get to play in the story.”

International (MNN) -- Sign up for Frontiers USA’s 30-day Ramadan prayer guide!

International (MNN) — It is going to be a very different Ramadan this year for Muslims around the world with the coronavirus pandemic still keeping many countries on lockdown. The 30-day holiday of fasting and prayer starts tonight at dusk.

However, mosques won’t be holding gatherings for Ramadan prayers. Families and friends won’t be coming together to share meals after daytime fasts. Many holy sites that Muslims would visit during Ramadan are closed.

A Different Ramadan

This Ramadan will be difficult and saddening for many of our Muslim friends and neighbors. They may be desperately looking for hope and a word from Allah, especially at this time.

What they need is the hope and encouragement of Jesus Christ.

Perry LaHaie with Frontiers USA says, “They’re thinking about their eternal future. Ramadan is one of the ways that they earn points, if you will, to get on Allah’s good side.

“With the combination of what Ramadan is about…and also just this pandemic that’s gripped our world and the fear that has gripped us, I think Muslims are going to be even more open during this Ramadan. This could be a Ramadan where more Muslims come to Jesus than ever before.”

That is why it’s especially important this year for Christians to be praying for Muslims to know the God of the Bible during Ramadan.

“When you pray through Ramadan for 30 days, you’re going to be a part of Muslim men, women, boys, and girls coming into God’s family. That’s how powerful prayer is.”

To help you do that, Frontiers has produced a new 30-day Ramadan prayer guide, That All May Know. Click here to sign up!

LaHaie says this prayer guide “will get you to look through the eyes of Muslim men, women, and children and see what life is like through their eyes. It will give you God’s heart for them.”

Sunya’s Story

Your prayers for the Muslim world are not in vain. Frontiers gets stories all the time from the mission field of God moving in the hearts and lives of Muslims, often in miraculous ways!

Such is the story of Sunya. As a devout Muslim woman in a Middle Eastern country, Sunya did everything right in the eyes of her friends and family. “She prayed five times a day, which is what devout Muslims do. She kept Ramadan. She always covered her head in public.”

However, when friend gave her a film about Jesus, Sunya had no idea her life was about to change. Sunya was familiar with the story of Jesus the prophet as told in the Quran, but the story in the film was different. It was the story of Jesus the Savior who loved her and died on a cross for her.

LaHaie says, “She watched the film, she thought about it, and it plunged her into a crisis of faith. So one night, she cried out to God and she just cried, ‘Lord, you’ve got to show me the truth. I’m so confused.’

“That night, Jesus appeared to her in a dream, which happens so much in the Muslim world. In the dream, Jesus was holding out His hands and He said to Sunya, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ That’s what it took for Sunya to become a follower of Jesus.”

Today, Sunya is persecuted for her faith. But that hasn’t stopped her from leading other Muslims to Jesus Christ.

How to Pray

In addition to signing up for Frontiers’ 30-day Ramadan prayer guide, LaHaie offers a few requests you can pray for now.

Pray for Muslims to have dreams and visions of Jesus.

Pray for Muslim families to be curious and read the Bible together.

Pray for Frontiers workers to find “persons of peace” — spiritually-open Muslims who are leaders in their communities and who will invite other Muslims to study the Bible with them. During the pandemic, they can even host virtual Bible studies.

Pray for more Christians to go share the Gospel with Muslims.

Finally, LaHaie suggests, “Consider becoming an advocate for Muslim peoples. There are 4,000 Muslim people groups that don’t have access to the Gospel. So pray, ‘God, would you have me be somebody who advocates to reach Muslim peoples?’”

North Africa (MNN) -- Frontiers needs more believers praying for and going to Muslims!

North Africa (MNN) — The Hazani people in North Africa are devoutly Muslim. They are also an unreached people group, meaning they don’t have any local Christians. Carissa and a team with Frontiers USA minister full-time among the Hazani and have a good relationship, but it took a while to get there.

Decades earlier, Carissa’s American Midwest church began praying for the Hazani people to know Jesus. Frontiers helped the church connect with the Hazani in North Africa and they learned the tribe was trying to find ways to broaden their children’s understanding of the world.

This prompted an idea. Carissa’s church invited the Hazani to send their kids to visit America and stay with Christian host families.

Perry LaHaie with Frontiers says, “They reached out to the Hazani tribal leaders and they said, ‘Well, other Muslims really aren’t helping us. So let’s give these American Christians a chance.’

“That first summer, nine families from Carissa’s church hosted the kids and then after a couple of years, Hazani leaders invited Carissa’s church to send short-term teams to come and just love on the kids more. The tribal leaders just said, ‘You love our kids. We can see that you genuinely care.’”

Once Carissa finished college in the early 2000s, she started going on short-term trips to visit the Hazani. Eventually, her church partnered with Frontiers to send a full-time team to work among the Hazani in North Africa. Carissa quit her job, joined the full-time team, and even became the team leader.

“They’ve been working among the Hazani for several years now sowing seeds of the Gospel, sharing and showing the love of Jesus,” LaHaie says. “There are still no churches and no believers. After decades, Carissa started to wonder and her teammates started to wonder if they had been just laboring in vain, working in vain, just throwing seed into the dry ground.”

“But God brought this promise to them from Isaiah 43. God says, ‘I’m doing a new thing. I’m making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.’ They have held on to that promise.”

Rain in the desert (Photo courtesy of Frontiers)

Carissa was also struck by a powerful word picture demonstrating the importance of their work. Someone asked Carissa if it rains in the Sahara. She admitted it isn’t often. She’s only seen two big rainstorms herself during her time in North Africa.

“This person said, ‘I’ve heard that after a rainstorm, a bunch of plants will just spring up overnight.’ Carissa said, ‘Yep, that’s exactly what happens.’

“Then Carissa realized, ‘Wow, all the seeds my church have sown haven’t been in vain. God is eventually going to send the rain and when the rain falls, life is going to spring up among the Hazani.'”

LaHaie says, “The Lord has promised that there will be some from the Hazani people group represented in the new heavens and the new earth. We’re just waiting for Him to send the rain.”

A short-term prayer team will be visiting Carissa’s team among the Hazani. Their purpose is to cover the ministry in prayer, conduct prayer walks, and hopefully even pray with Hazani families.

LaHaie says, “They’ve got great relationships. So just pray that that will be a powerful event that’s going on this month.”

Please also pray for God to send the rain of the Holy Spirit over the Hazani people in North Africa and cause a harvest of faith to spring up.

Then, see if you can get your church involved. Reach out to Frontiers and ask if there is a Muslim people group your church can specifically be praying for. You can even send a short-term or long-term team with Frontiers and share Jesus with Muslims!

USA (MNN) -- Perry LaHaie with Frontiers USA released a new song for Advent

USA (MNN) — Did you know there are still over 1,000 Muslim people groups who have never heard the true Gospel of Jesus Christ? Frontiers USA hopes to change that.

Perry LaHaie with Frontiers says, “We want to see viral movements of the Gospel among every Muslim people group by 2025 and beyond. One of the ways we do that, of course, is by recruiting, training, and sending workers into Muslim people groups.”

The heart of Frontiers’ mission is inviting all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus with love and respect. They focus on areas with the highest concentration of unengaged Muslim people groups.

With every Muslim people group that gains a Gospel witness and sees Church growth, the Great Commission advances.

“In Matthew 24:14, Jesus says, ‘This gospel of the kingdom will be preached…as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.’” LaHaie says, “It kind of blows my mind that in some way, shape, or form that as we bring the Gospel to the people who have never heard — Muslim people groups — we’re somehow speeding the day of Jesus’s return.

“The Bible promises in Revelation 7, we see this huge throng of people from every tribe tongue, people, and nation gathered worshiping the Lamb. That’s going to happen. That is God’s promise. So we’re moving toward that day.”

Right now, in the thick of the Advent season, Christians around the world are reflecting on Jesus’s first coming — over 2,000 years ago as a baby born fully-God and fully-man to be a sacrifice for our salvation.

LaHaie says as we ponder Christ’s first coming, it’s the perfect time to also pray for and look toward His second coming someday.

“I’m just longing for the day when Jesus will come and make everything right again, and some [people] from every Muslim people group, every people group in the world [are] worshiping the Lamb.”

Inspired by these reflections, LaHaie recently released a new song just in time for the Advent season called “O Come, O Come Emmanuel (How Long).”

LaHaie’s song is a reimagining of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” with the lyrics transitioning from Christ’s first coming to looking towards His second coming.

The added bridge sings:

How long until you come again,

bring evil’s final end

and justice finally wins?

How long till Heaven comes to stay

and all nations have been saved;

when not yet will be no more?

How long? How long, Emmanuel?

LaHaie says, “It’s a prayer for the Gospel to come to all the people groups of the world — the Muslim people groups and Buddhist and Hindu and so on, and that Jesus will come again. He will wipe away every tear and sorrow and pain and suffering and even death itself. It’s a prayer for the new Heavens and the new Earth and for all of us to be gathered there.”

You can listen to the song and watch the music video below. As you do, LaHaie hopes you are moved to respond and get involved in what God is doing in the world.

“If you can feel God’s heartbeat for every people group, every tribe and tongue and nation to be gathered around the throne one day, making a gift to Frontiers is one way to bring about that day because that’s what we’re all about.”

Click here to give to Frontiers!

Also, if you feel the Holy Spirit stirring your heart for the Muslim world, LaHaie encourages you to go! “Our short-term trips are posted at our website, frontiersusa.org. This is a really cool ramp into what it might be like to work long-term in the Muslim world, but even if you don’t do that, it will change your life to go.”

And, of course, pray. Ask God to stir spiritual revival among unreached, unengaged people groups, including Muslims. Pray for the Church to rise up and spread the name of Jesus to the ends of the earth as we wait for His second coming.

Saudi Arabia (MNN) -- For some Muslims, the Hajj’s last day may be their first day knowing Jesus

Saudi Arabia (MNN) — Today is the last day of the Hajj, an annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca and a pillar of the Islamic faith. Over two million Muslims converged on the Islamic holy site this year.

During the Hajj, Muslims spend several days circling the black cube called the Kabaa and performing other rituals. They earnestly seek Allah’s favor and desire to grow closer to God.

Something else Muslims seek on the Hajj — dreams and visions.

In Western culture, dreams and visions are not as revered as they are in the East. Especially in Muslim contexts, dreams and visions are highly sought.

Perry LaHaie with Frontiers USA explains, “Muhammad is said to have had visions when he received the Quran. So, in the tradition of their prophet, they want to have a dream. They want to have a vision. They want to hear from God.”

However, some Muslims like Yusef end up having a very different dream from what they thought — and completely changes their life.

In LaHaie’s words, “All his life, Yusef, a Muslim in Asia wanted to see the Prophet Muhammad in a dream. This was his longing. One night he had that dream but he was very troubled by it.

“In his dream, Muhammad was kneeling before Jesus, and Jesus was on a throne.

LaHaie says, “[Yusef] was really troubled and perplexed by this. Why would Muhammad, the greatest prophet, be kneeling before the Prophet Jesus?”

Often, when Muslims ask their Imams about these dreams of Jesus, their Imams dismiss the dreams as satanic. “But Yusef just was convinced that it wasn’t a satanic dream.”

Yusef had the same dream the following night. “Jesus is on the throne. Muhammad is kneeling before him. But in this dream, Jesus takes a hold of [Yusef], lifts him up into the air, and they rise up over Yusef’s neighborhood…. Jesus takes him several blocks away and they hover over this building and it’s a church. Inside the church, they can hear believers praying for Muslims — praying that Muslims will come to know Jesus.”

In his dream, Jesus then told Yusef to go to the church and talk to the pastor. Yusef noticed the church in the dream was close to his house, but he didn’t even know a church was there. When he went, sure enough, there was the church from his dream!

LaHaie says, “He met the pastor there. He told the pastor about the dreams he’d had and the pastor was able to share the Good News with him. Yusef decided to follow Jesus!”

Yusef fell in love with Jesus — and it all started with a dream. “Yusef describes being with Jesus like having liquid love pouring all over him and all through him.”

Christians in the Muslim world and on the mission field hear many amazing stories like Yusef’s. God is showing how much He loves Muslims by miraculously revealing Himself to them through His Son, Jesus.

LaHaie says the Hajj is a timely period to ask the Holy Spirit to move in the Muslim world. As Muslims seek spiritual truth on the Hajj, pray for Jesus to meet Muslims where they are in dreams and visions.

Secondly, it may seem outrageous, but there are believers from a Muslim background who are in Mecca — the heart of Islam — covertly reaching fellow Muslims with the Gospel during the Hajj.

“They are doing God’s work, even as we speak. So pray that these Muslim-background believers will win Muslims to Jesus right there in Mecca!”

You may even know some Muslims in your own neighborhood and circles. Consider using the Hajj as a conversation starter!

“A great way to just move into a conversation would be to say, ‘Hey, I understand that the Hajj is going on right now. Tell me about that! What does that mean with your faith? How does that play into your worship?’ Find out as much as you can about it. Be interested and curious and show that you respect the fact that they want to seek God,” LaHaie suggests.

“Then use that as a bridge…. Tell your story of what Jesus Christ has done for you. I think, rather than get into a debate, be curious about their faith, be genuinely interested in their faith and in them as a person, and then just be open about being a follower [of Jesus] and share your story.”

You can join what God is doing in the Muslim world at frontiersusa.org!

International (MNN) -- Prayer for the Muslim world is critical year-round

International (MNN) — Tomorrow is the last day of Ramadan — a month of daytime fasting for the Muslim world as they seek Allah’s favor. Eid al-Fitr, a holiday marking the end of Ramadan, begins tonight. Muslims will gather to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with feasting and prayer.

“It’s part of gaining [Allah’s] smile, gaining his approval through their works,” says Perry LaHaie with Frontiers USA. “They’re so intensely focused during this time, I think it’s a time they’re more open to hearing something from God.”

We’ve asked you to pray during Ramadan for Muslim men and women to find spiritual truth in the God of the Bible. As the Islamic holy month wraps up with a time of fervent prayers to Allah, there is no better time for Christians to be praying for Muslims to encounter Jesus.

“This is the mystery of prayer. God calls us to pray and He moves through our prayers…. As believers all across the world focus prayers during this time, He hears our prayers and He reveals Himself to Muslims and He answers our prayers.”

Frontiers works among Islamic people groups around the world to introduce them to the Gospel and plant churches. They frequently hear stories from the mission field of how God is moving through prayer.

LaHaie shares the story of Miriam, a believer from a Muslim background discipled by Frontiers workers. Miriam’s uncle Samir was not a Christian and when she heard he was dying, she went to visit him.

“She was hoping to have an opportunity to share the Good News with him, but there just wasn’t an opportunity because the relatives were gathered in his room around his bed and there just wasn’t that chance to do it. So she felt like she needed to go back home. She went in to say her goodbye to Uncle Samir and said, ‘I’ll be back. I’ll come back and visit you.’”

Miriam went to leave but after she walked out, a cousin ran after her and told her Uncle Samir just died. Miriam immediately went back.

“There was grieving, there’s morning, there’s wailing, and she feels prompted in her heart to pray for him. She’s thinking, ‘This is crazy.’ Her palms are sweaty [and] she’s wondering, ‘What in the world can a prayer do?’ But she had been discipled by Frontiers workers to follow God’s prompts.

“So she just prayed in the name of Jesus for her uncle Samir. Color returned to his face and he started breathing. Not only that — he was healed from the sickness he had!”

Miriam didn’t know what to do. She was so astounded, as was the rest of the family. Miriam went back to her village and talked with her Frontiers mentor, Hakeem, who was also a believer from a Muslim background.

“Hakeem and Miriam went back to the village and they went to Uncle Samir’s house…. People are still there asking, ‘What in the world happened?’ They were grilling Uncle Samir with questions: ‘Did you really die? What did you see?’

“Hakeem stands up in the middle of all these relatives and he says, ‘It is by the power of Jesus Christ that this man was healed.’ He had their attention. Then he just shared the Gospel with them and ten of the family members put their faith in Jesus.”

Prayer is moving hearts in the Muslim world and the Holy Spirit is stirring a spiritual revival. You can join Frontiers and other Christians spreading the hope of Jesus — through prayer.

LaHaie offers a few things to continue praying for Muslims throughout the year:

Ask God to reveal His truth to Muslims in dreams and visions.

Pray for Muslims to be hungry to read the Bible.

Ask the Lord to send more workers to reach Muslims with the Gospel.

Pray for Muslims to be overwhelmed by trying to earn Allah’s favor, and instead find peace in God’s grace.

Pray for Muslims to be disillusioned by Islamic extremists and turn to the Lord for biblical truth.

Join Christians around the world in praying for ten percent or more of the Muslim world to enter God’s Kingdom by 2028.

International (MNN) -- Get a 30-day Ramadan prayer guide with Frontiers USA!

International (MNN) — The Muslim world is three days into Ramadan, a holiday when Muslims fast during the daylight hours and seek to earn Allah’s favor.

Ramadan is also a pivotal time for Christians — a time to pray for God to show Muslims the truth of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Frontiers USA works among Islamic people groups to plant churches and introduce Muslims to Jesus in the Bible. Perry LaHaie with Frontiers says they hear stories all the time from the mission field of God miraculously revealing His truth to Muslim men and women.

“We hear them so often — God showing up in a dream or a vision [or] performing a miracle of healing. A lot of the times, it’s just something that prepares the heart of a Muslim person, and then many times, God will bring a follower of Jesus into that person’s life or they’ll get in touch with the Bible.”

LaHaie says he recently heard the story of Rachel, a Muslim woman whose father was an Islamic scholar. “Rachel’s father…felt like he really didn’t understand the Muslim holy book, the Quran, so he just dove into it really deep to understand it better. Rachel was inspired by her father’s desire to know the Quran better so she started her own quest for truth.

“She ended up reading about Isa al-Masih, Jesus the Messiah, online. As she read about that and reflected on what she was learning, one night she just cried out, ‘God, show me the truth.’

“Right after that, her room was filled with a brilliant light and she heard the words she had just read online from Jesus. She heard the words, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except by me.’

“When she had this vision of light and heard the words, she was convinced they were true.”

Rachel was so moved by Jesus’s words that she told her mother about the vision, and her mother believed as well. One by one, Rachel’s father, two brothers, sister, and sister’s fiance all came to trust in Jesus as their Savior.

“It just seems like this is one of the things God is doing in the Muslim world — using dramatic signs, wonders, dreams, visions, and then getting Muslims connected with the Word,” LaHaie says. “It’s like a touch point that moves them forward, maybe breaks through the misconceptions they have, and opens them up to then hearing the Word.”

Hungry for Hope, a 30-day Ramadan prayer guide by Frontiers USA.
