Wycliffe’s Kristie Frieze says you can tune in to catch worship with Aaron Shust, and a celebration of the 13+ million people that now have Scripture in their heart language for the very first time.

“As we look back on the last six months, I am thrilled to see the progress of Bible translation around the globe,” stated Bob Creson, president and CEO of Wycliffe USA, in a press release.

“The 30 language groups we are celebrating this fall represent millions of people who previously had no access to Scripture in their first language. Hearing from these believers shows us the great impact that our Bible translation has around the world, and reminds us why we do this important work.”

The celebrated Scripture translations represent 30 different languages spoken by more than 13 million people in 18 countries across Asia, Africa, the Americas and the Pacific. The translations include one full Bible, two revisions, 11 Scripture portions and 20 full New Testaments.

Wycliffe’s Scripture Celebration will include a time of worship led by Dove Award-winning songwriter Aaron Shust, as well as testimonies from those impacted by biblical teachings and Wycliffe’s work around the world.

The Bible translation organization also plans to honor the Green family with its 2018 Scripture Impact Award. David Green founded Hobby Lobby, and his son, Mart Green, started the Every Tribe, Every Nation coalition. The Green family is also behind the Museum of the Bible.

“The Scripture Impact Award commends men and women who have a passion for the Bible and demonstrate a personal commitment to that,” Frieze explains.

“They’re using their resources and influence to see God’s Word reach and engage and change people’s lives.”

Praise God that translations of His Word were completed in 30 languages this year. Frieze notes, “We’re getting more and more every time, which shows Bible translation is accelerating.”

“Our fall Scripture Celebration is the perfect way to follow up on the month-long #WhyBible campaign that ran throughout September,” said Bob Creson, President and CEO of Wycliffe. “This is another chance to celebrate the joy of the Gospel and to hear stories of people from all over the world whose lives have been changed by gaining access to Scripture in the language they know and understand best.”

Wycliffe’s semi-annual Scripture Celebration includes live music and participants dressed in the traditional attire of cultures represented by the new translations. The 2016 event will celebrate the completion of Scripture in 29 different languages spoken by more than 2.2 million people across 17 countries in Asia, Africa, Central America, and South America.

Languages being celebrated in 2016 include Tamajaq Tawallammat, a language spoken by an estimated 450,000 people in Niger; Bunong, spoken by an estimated 44,000 people in Southeast Asia; and Paama, the language of an estimated 7,000 people in Vanuatu.

The Scripture Celebration will include a time of worship, stories about God’s faithfulness and goodness, and videos from various language communities.

The celebration will be hosted in the Tboli Auditorium at the Wycliffe Discovery Center at 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd, Orlando, FL, 32832. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required.
