(International)–Next, as poverty statistics continue to rise around the world, Habitat for Humanity International has kicked off an aggressive campaign to double their global outreach. Habitat’s Kimberly Moore explains what’s happening. “We’re expanding. Now, we’re in 79 countries; we’re hoping to be in 80 by the end of this year. It’s just a progression. We feel that God has certainly blessed this ministry. We’ve been building up to this level. Now, everything’s in place to go ahead and continue.” Moore says over one billion people live in substandard housing worldwide. While Habitat works to meet a physical need for shelter, there is another need the teams meet. “We feel like we are sharing the hope of Christ because building a house is very tangible evidence of God’s love. We also give them a Bible, too. So, they get a key to their house and they also get a key to their new life.”
